It has a diameter of about 800 km. There are prediscovery images back to January of 1997, October, February and January of 1996, October of 1990, October of 1955 and November of 1954. It has an inclination of 17.1º.

Hindu mythology

In vedism, Varuna is the god of the night sky.
The stars are his thousand-eyed spies, watching every movement of human conduct. Varuna is the keeper of Divine Order and Lord of the Cosmos.

When (20000) Varuna comes into play, violations of cosmic laws that were unseen, are finally known, like at the end of the movie "Sixth Sense" (1999), in the TV Series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2000), in the movie "What Lies Beneath" (2000), "Frequency" (2000), "Rear Window" (Alfred Hitchcock, 1954) and the TV show "Big Brother" (2000).

Like the 6th mutable line of 20th hexagram of I Ching, for
(20000) Varuna, cosmic laws constitute an aligned set in which is easy to distinguish everithing that turns aside.
