Greek mythology

Pelion was the mountain in Thessaly in which the Centaurs lived, creatures half horse, half human, who were strong, fast and intelligent.

(49036) Pelion combines the fulminating quality of 17 AU with scattered elements, whose identity is not sufficiently clear or there is confusion about the connections between them (orbital piercing from Uranus to Neptune).

(49036) Pelion is related with areas of hidden dangers, such as jellyfish in the sea, spiders in the forest, or infiltrated individuals in urban areas, like in the movies "Anacondas 2: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid" (2004), "Blade" (1998), "Matrix" (1999) or in some episodes of "X-Files" (1992).
