Rumina, Roman mythology for the object (145451) 2005 RM43

On September 1, 2025, the scattered disc object (145451) 2005 RM43 was officially named (145451) Rumnina.

"Rumina is a minor Roman goddess who was invoked as a protector of nursing mothers." (WGSBN Bull. 5, #20, 7)

Rumina was a deity who protected breastfeeding, both in humans and animals.

On the banks of the Tiber River, a she-wolf (Lupa) found a beached basket containing the twin babies Romulus and Remus. The she-wolf nursed and cared for them until they were discovered by a shepherd (Faustulus), who raised them as his own sons.

In the place where the basket was found, a wild fig tree grew, considered sacred to the goddess Rumina, which symbolized the ability to give and sustain life.

The most striking feature of this mythology is that the capacity for nursing and care occurs between different species, which aligns with the ability of scattered disc objects with a very high aphelion to understand and interact with different cultures and societies.

The discovery of the object Rumina coincided with the Prüm Convention, a treaty signed in May 2005 by Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Spain in the city of Prüm, Germany, which was later joined by other members of the European Union. This treaty outlined the police cooperation measures adopted, such as the exchange of data related to DNA, fingerprints, and vehicle registrations.

The prediscoveries of the object Rumina [photographs taken before its discovery], coincide with progress in this area. For example, Europol officially began its operations in July 1999.

The first prediscovery of the object Rumnia, wich dates back to November 1976, coincides with the beginning of police cooperation between the member states of the European Community through the 'Trevi Group' network, comprised of representatives from the Ministries of Justice and Interior.

Goibniu, Irish mythology for the object (90568) 2004 GV9

On September 1, 2025, the classical Kuiper belt object (90568) 2004 GV9 was officially named (90568) Goibniu.

"Goibniu is the god of metallurgy and hospitality in Irish mythology. He served as the metalsmith for the supernatural Tuatha Dé Danann [the folk of the goddess Danu]." [WGSBN Bull. 5, #20, 7]

Thanks to their control of trade routes along the Rhine and Danube, the Celts were the first Central European tribe to experience and benefit from the Iron Age, and they brought their metalworking knowledge to Ireland and other countries in northern and western Europe.

Celtic forges produced agricultural tools, horse harnesses, swords, and experimented with alloys. These workshops changed the course of history by manufacturing the first chainmail armor, horseshoes, iron wheel rims, and iron plowshares, among other things.

Celtic culture reached Ireland gradually, though primarily as a result of Celtic invasions beginning around 500 BC. The blacksmithing skills of the Celts were complemented by the indigenous Irish metalworking knowledge of the Bronze Age, forming the basis of Celtic-Irish culture between 400 BC and 900 AD.

The metalworking process used by Irish artisans involved assembling many different pieces. This required mastery of techniques such as welding and riveting, as well as mechanical joining. Bone and slate diagrams are archaeological evidence indicating that the design and assembly were carefully planned in advance.

Goibniu is a classic Kuiper Belt object, associated with the ability to handle a large workload in a short amount of time, thanks to the distribution of tasks across separate units that are executed simultaneously, in parallel. This is what is known in computer science as 'multithreaded processing'.

The challenge arises during the integration of the different tasks, since each one is different and therefore takes more or less time to complete. This implies waiting for one, sometimes several or all, of these tasks to finish.

This concept of 'waiting' is a critical point in the story of the smith Culann from Irish mythology:

"Culann was a smith whose house was guarded by a fierce guard dog. Culann invited Conchobar, King of Ulster, and his retinue to a banquet at his house. On the way, Conchobar saw his young nephew Sétanta playing hurling and was so impressed that he invited him to join him at the banquet. Sétanta told him he would catch up after the game. However, the banquet began, and Culann asked Conchobar if he was expecting anyone else. Conchobar, who had forgotten about Sétanta, replied that he wasn't, and Culann unleashed his guard dog. So when Sétanta arrived, Culann was taken by surprise and had no choice but to kill it in self-defense. Sétanta offered to perform his duties, taking his place until a replacement could be bred. Therefore, he was renamed 'Cú Chulainn', which means 'Culann's hound'." (Goibniu, Wikipedia)

The discovery of the object Goibniu coincided with the appearance of the PS3 video game console processor, made up of a CPU that managed 7 separate processing units in parallel; and also with the first dual-core PC CPUs.

The prediscoveries of the object Goibniu [photographs taken before its discovery], also coincide with advances in that direction. For example, the Intel Pentium processor, which appeared in 1993, had an architecture capable of executing two operations simultaneously in each clock cycle, thanks to its segmentation [pipeline] into two data channels.

The first prediscovery of the object Goibniu dates back to 1954, when appeared the first computer built with transistors, instead of vacuum tubes.

Giovanni Ribisi, actor of the movie "The Flight of the Phoenix" (2004) and "Avatar" (2009), has Goibniu in Virgo (4th Moon-Node House), in opposition to Jupiter; and in (bi)septile to Mercury-Sun in Sagittarius (12th Moon-Node House).

Uni, Etruscan mythology for the object (55637) 2002 UX25

On September 1, 2025, the classical Kuiper belt object (55637) 2002 UX25 was officially named (55637) Uni.

"Uni is the Etruscan goddess of love and fertility. She is one of the three main gods of the pantheon. The satellite (55637) Uni I is named for Uni's husband, the sky god Tinia." (WGSBN Bull. 5, #20, 6)

In Etruscan mythology, Uni was the supreme goddess, equivalent to Hera in Greek mythology and Juno in Roman mythology. With her husband Tinia (equivalent to the Greek Zeus and the Roman Jupiter), Uni conceived Hercle, equivalent to the Greek Heracles and the Roman Hercules.

The most relevant aspect of this mythology is the bond between Uni and Tinia. Thus, the proper names Uni and Tinia are less important to its definition than the bond between them. That is, 'wife of Tinia' (= Uni); 'husband of Uni' (= Tinia).

Chiminigagua, Colombian mythology for the object (532037) 2013 FY27

On August 11, 2025, the scattered disc object (532037) 2013 FY27 was officially named (532037) Chiminigagua.

"Chiminigagua is the creator of light and the world of the Muisca people that inhabit the Andes mountains in the central part of Colombia. Before Chiminigagua, there was only darkness." (WGSBN Bull. 5, #19, 11)

In the beginning, the world was in total darkness. To spread the light, Chiminigagua created two great black birds that flew through space radiating incandescent light as they exhaled breath through their beaks.

Symbolically, birds represent freedom of movement and communication, while the creation of light represents the revelation of truth.

Astrologically, the object Chiminigagua represents the ability to obtain information through spontaneous and free dialogue, without following any predefined script.

Ritona, Celtic mythology for the object (145452) 2005 RN43

On July 21, 2025, the classical Kuiper belt object (145452) 2005 RN43 was officially named: (145452) Ritona:

"Ritona is a goddess of river fords among the Celtic tribe of the Treveri located in the Moselle river valley." [WGSBN Bull. 5, #17, 24]

A ford is a shallow, firm-bottomed section of a river, stream, canal, or other body of water, allowing passage on foot, horseback, or in a vehicle. Ritona was the goddess of fords, providing experience and protection when crossing watercourses.

Water currents symbolize a tightly knit social group, oriented unidirectionally toward a goal. Crossing the water current at the ford, in a transverse direction, refers to the caution and effort required to resist being carried away by a seemingly weak force, but one that is constantly strengthened.

Achlys, Greek mythology for the plutino (208996) 2003 AZ84

On June 30, 2025, the plutino (208996) 2003 AZ84 was officially named: (208996) Achlys.

"Achlys is a personification of sorrow and grief described in the Greek epic poem, the Shield of Heracles. It is also used by Homer in the Iliad to describe the mist that covers the eyes of the dying." [WGSBN Bull. 5, #15, 16]

This mythology symbolizes the processes of psychological transformation that uncover hidden aspects by the most superficial layers of personality.

The plutino Achlys is part of the group of objects with their semi-major axis in 1:1 resonance with the planet Pluto (and therefore, also in 2:3 resonance with the planet Neptune). What distinguishes Achlys from other plutinos is its ability to evolve and develop through various stages that then integrate and unify (perihelion in 4:3 resonance with the planet Pluto); it also has the ability to very gradually redefine its personality (perihelion in 3:1 resonance with the dwarf planet Eris).

Aya, Akkadian mythology for the object (55565) 2002 AW197

On June 30, 2025, the scattered disc object (55565) 2002 AW197 was officially named (55565) Aya:

"Aya is the goddess of the dawn in Akkadian mythology. Aya was the consort of the Sun god, Shamash." [WGSBN Bull. 5, #15, 15].

"Buduhudug was the mythical mountain where the sun set, the place where Shamash entered Aya, reuniting with her each day after he finished his journey through the sky.

Ninsun, Gilgamesh's mother, during her prayer to Shamash, asks Aya three times to intercede on behalf of her son to guarantee his safety both during the day and the night on his journey to the Land of the Living where he would face the giant Humbaba, guardian of the Cedar Forest. Ninsun makes clear that the optimal time for Aya to supplicate her husband is just after sunset, when he returns home from his daily journey." (Wikipedia)

This mythology indicates the importance of choosing the right strategy in each specific case to obtain the expected result.

The object Aya has the ability to proceed logically and systematically to create new physical security systems, isolating factors to determine the cause of a problem, methodically testing options, one by one, until a solution is found (semi-major axis in 1:11 resonance with the planet Saturn). To this end, it is capable of learning from mistakes, quickly recognizing the situation (perihelion in 1:9 resonance with the planet Saturn). The object Aya also has the ability to shift paradigms and perceive the situation in a new way, thanks to an inner understanding of coherent facts and circumstances (aphelion in 13:9 resonance with the dwarf planet Eris).

Giorgio Nardone, director of the postgraduate school of brief strategic psychotherapy (Arezzo, Italy), has Aya in Cancer (4th Moon-Node House), near the Crossing Point of Age Progressions (Signs Horoscope), in trine with Jupiter-Neptune in Scorpio (12th Moon-Node House), which are in sextile with Pluto in Virgo (2nd Moon-Node House).

Mani, Norse mythology for the object (307261) 2002 MS4

On June 9, 2025, the classical Kuiper belt object (307261) 2002 MS4 was officially named (307261) Mani.

"Máni [male character] is a personification of the Moon from Old Norse as described in the Prose Edda. Máni is the son of Mundilfari and the brother of Sól
[female character], the Sun." (WGSBN Bull. 5, #11, 13)

In Norse mythology, the gods assigned Máni and Sól (sons of Mundilfari) the task of controlling and directing the Moon and the Sun respectively, avoiding being reached by the wolves Hati and Sköll (eclipsing agents).

In this mythology, the sociability of the Moon (astrological meaning) takes on a masculine component, manifesting itself in the form of initiative during social interaction. The wolves, following behind, symbolize social integration and the restructuring of the positions that each member occupies in the social hierarchy.

The classical Kuiper belt object Mani represents the capacity for evolution and adaptation to rapid changes in state in the form of a burst (5:16 resonance with the planet Uranus). It also represents the ability to remain open to understanding others if their attitude and behavior are in line with our values (8:13 resonance with the planet Neptune).

The objet Mani has the ability to remain open to facts or information that progressively help defining the quality of the situation or problem (perihelion in 8:3 resonance with the dwarf planet Eris). It also produces events or circumstances that force shortcomings related to identification processes to come to light (perihelion in 4:3 resonance with the objects Haumea-Varuna-Uni).

The object Mani is also related to infiltration capabilities (aphelion in 1:2 resonance with the planet Neptune), which require a certain degree of personality sophistication (aphelion in 3:4 resonance with the planet Pluto). It also generates exceptional opportunities in which access is opened to processes or functions that are normally closed or internal (aphelion in 5:6 resonance with object Salacia), which all together make the course of development or the final outcome very difficult to deduce from the outset (aphelion in 5:3 resonance with dwarf planet Gonggong).

Taowu, Chinese mythology for the damocloid centaur (471325) 2011 KT19

On February 3, 2025, the damocloid centaur 2011 KT19 was officially named (471325) Taowu.

"One of the Four Perils of Chinese mythology, Taowu is a ferocious and stubborn beast said to lurk within the western regions of China. It is depicted as having a human head, tiger legs, boar tusks, and a long tail." (WGSBN Bulletin 5, #2).

This mythological creature combines emotional and mental intelligence (human head), the ability to catch and grab its prey (tiger legs), initiative and forward momentum (boar tusks), and a great sense of balance when moving and rejoining (long tail).

The concept of 'peril' in Ancient China is explained in the hexagram nº 29 of I-Ching, entitled "“The Abysmal”". It refers to the ability to analyze all the possibilities and aspects of a situation, which allows one to find the correct and most appropriate solution to it.

The damocloid centaur Taowu is in resonance 1:18 with Jupiter (semi-major axis), which indicates faith and confidence in resolving situations that are untimely, out of place or inverted; and in resonance 1:2 with Neptune (aphelion), which indicates the capacity for infiltration. Its retrograde and highly inclined orbit is related to inner experiences that are very far from the everyday and the habitual.
