(120347) Salacia, social discrimination

(120347) Salacia can be related to social discrimination, based in personal characteristic or life style, like in the movie "Rambo I" (1982), that appeared during the prediscovery of (120347) Salacia.

John Rambo is an exgreen-beret that comes from Vietnam to visit an old companion, once he discovers that he died, he tries to find a job in a town where the police do not let him even walk.

Salacia, Roman mythology for the object (120347) 2004 SB60

On February 18, 2011, the classical Kuiper belt object (120347) 2004 SB60 was officially named (120347) Salacia.

Facebook, a social network based on the adding of other users as friends by sending a request, was launched in early 2004 in some universities of USA. In 2006 opened to everyone aged 13 and over. And, in later 2010, was released the movie "The Social Network".

Derived from Latin 'sal' meaning 'salt', the name Salacia denotes the wide, open sea, and is sometimes literally translated to mean 'sensational'.

Roman mythology

Salacia was a goddess of the sea, salt water and springs of highly mineralized waters. She was the personification of the calm and sunlit aspect of the sea.

The god Neptune wanted to marry Salacia, but she was in great awe of her distinguished suitor, and with grace and celerity, she managed to glide out of his sight, and hid from him in the Atlantic Ocean. The grieving Neptune sent a dolphin to look for her and persuade the fair nymph to come back and share his throne. Salacia agreed to marry Neptune and the King of the Deep was so overjoyed at these good tidings that the dolphin was awarded a place in the heavens, where he now forms a well known constellation Delphinus (the Dolphin). (120347) 2004 SB60 [Salacia], computing firewall

(120347) 2004 SB60 [Salacia] is a classical Kuiper belt object discovered in September of 2004. There is a prediscovery image back to July of 1982. It has a perihelion of 37.4 AU and an aphelion of 46.5 AU. It has an inclination of 23.9º. It has a diameter of about 550km.

A moon of (120347) 2004 SB60 [Salacia], with a diamater of about 290 km, was discovered in July of 2006 [Actaea].

In the year 1982 appeared the movie "Tron", were the main character is a software developer that is blocked by an artificial intelligence called "Master Control Program". In the year 2004, appeared the movie "I-Robot", in which there is an artificial intelligence called "VIKI" that remains the one in "Tron". Also, that year (2004), appeared several movies with the main theme as 'refuse access', like "Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid", "Wicker Park", "The Hunted Mansion" (2003), also "Cars" (Pixar) and "The Departed" in the year 2006 and "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial" in the year 1982.

Computing firewall

A firewall is a device or set of devices designed to permit or deny network transmissions based upon a set of rules and is frequently used to protect networks from unauthorized access while permitting legitimate communications to pass. (Wikipedia: firewall)

"When a Stranger Calls" (2006)

The selective process of (120347) 2004 SB60 [Salacia] works like a computing firewall: not allowing anything that does not match with certain pre-established rules, like preventing access without T-shirt, or with sports clothing and footwear.

In the year 2004 was founded Facebook, a social network whose access to certain areas depends on how is selected the privacy policy: friends, friends of friends; or any person.

Classical Kuiper belt objects are the transpersonal or spiritual dimension of Saturn. As (120347) 2004 SB60 [Salacia], Saturn also imposes limits, but usually in a physical or material way.
